Dr. Mark Dawson is the Director of Digital Education and a Senior Teaching Fellow at the Management School, Lancaster University. He serves as Programme Director of the full-time MBA and is affiliated with the Centre for Technological Futures and Pentland Centre for Sustainability in Business. His research focuses on Intellectual Health, examining how original thinking, ethical practices, and decision-making are shaped in the context of industrial-scale digital technologies. He teaches Business Ethics and Sustainability, emphasizing the intersection of technology and societal responsibility.
Mark’s academic activities include editorial roles in journals like AI and Society and Technology, Pedagogy and Education, as well as conference participation, including the British Academy of Management Conference 2022. He advises PhD student Lisa Gunther and collaborates on projects exploring digital sustainability in education and ethical challenges in technological innovation.
His research interests span the ethical implications of digital technologies, sustainable business practices, and the future of academic practice. He actively contributes to interdisciplinary discussions on how technology influences education, decision-making, and societal well-being.
