Rutgers, The State University of New Jerseyمعرفی
Mark D. Feigenson is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University. His research focuses on trace element and isotope geochemistry of igneous rocks, geophysical modeling of melt generation, and mantle plume dynamics. He holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland, an M.S. from George Washington University, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from Princeton University.
His work explores volcanic systems like Central American volcanoes and Hawaiian plumes, with notable contributions to understanding magma genesis through isotope analysis. Key projects include the Hawaii Scientific Drilling Project and Ocean Drilling Program collaborations. He teaches courses such as Introductory Geology, Ore Deposits, and Isotope Geochemistry at undergraduate and graduate levels.
Feigenson’s publications span decades, addressing topics from crustal contamination in Guatemalan lavas to mantle source heterogeneity in Hawaii. His research integrates fieldwork with geochemical and geophysical methods, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to volcanic and magmatic processes.
