Lucy McGee

Dr Lucy McGee is an Internal Grant Funded Researcher (B) at the University of Adelaide's School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. Her research focuses on high-temperature geochemistry, volcanology, and igneous processes, particularly using isotopes to study magmatic systems and metal transport. She has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Chile, Macquarie University, and the University of Auckland, and collaborates internationally with institutions like SERNAGEOMIN and Liverpool University.

Her research interests include monogenetic and arc volcanism, basalt geochemistry, mantle heterogeneity, uranium-series isotopes, ore deposit studies (尤其是铜同位素), and planetary science. She has supervised multiple honours and PhD projects in these areas, applying igneous techniques to meteorite and tektite samples.

Her work on the Auckland Volcanic Field, Villarrica Volcano, and Southern Chilean volcanic systems has advanced understanding of magma genesis, crustal assimilation, and volatile dynamics. Recent projects explore Cu isotope behavior in ore deposits and arc systems, as well as meteorite fluid flow processes.
