Mark Currie

Professor Mark Currie holds the position of Professor of Contemporary Literature at Queen Mary University of London's School of English and Drama. He has held academic roles at institutions including the University of East Anglia, Anglia Ruskin University, and the University of Westminster. Currie earned his MA from the University of Aberdeen and PhD from Jesus College, Cambridge. His research focuses on narrative theory, literary theory, and the philosophy of time, particularly exploring how temporal concepts intersect with fiction and philosophy. Notable works include About Time (2007), The Unexpected (2013), and The Invention of Deconstruction (2013). Current projects examine uncertainty in literature and the sciences. He teaches courses such as Narrative, Fiction and Temporality and supervises doctoral students in modernist and contemporary literature.
