Mark Clintworth

Mark Clintworth is an Adjunct Fellow at World Maritime University, specializing in shipping finance risk through machine learning applications. Formerly Head of Shipping for the European Investment Bank (EIB) until 2019, he managed financing for sustainable maritime projects aligned with EU policies. His career includes roles at IBM Research and NCR Communication, with expertise spanning financial systems modernization.

Clintworth holds a PhD in machine learning applications for shipping company risk, an MSc in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Newcastle University, and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Liverpool. He is a Chartered Engineer (UK Engineering Council) and Associate Member of RINA.
