Dr. Mark Bryan is a Reader in Economics at the School of Economics of the University of Sheffield. Previously, he worked at the Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER) at the University of Essex from 2000-2015, advancing from Senior Research Officer to Senior Research Fellow.

His research focuses on employment economics, health and wellbeing, wage inequality, and econometric methods. His methodological expertise spans panel data analysis and multilevel modeling, with applications to issues like minimum wage effects, housework wage penalties, and training outcomes. He teaches Public Policy Evaluation at the MSc level, emphasizing practical policy assessment.
