Dr. Marjorie Golden is an Associate Professor of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) at the Yale School of Medicine and Site Chief of Infectious Diseases at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. She specializes in HIV/AIDS, antimicrobial therapy, prosthetic joint infections, and healthcare-associated infections. Her clinical expertise includes outpatient antimicrobial management and antimicrobial stewardship programs.
Educated at Tufts University (BS in Biology) and Albany Medical College (MD), she completed residency and fellowship training at New England Deaconess Hospital. She has been recognized for her teaching and research, including awards such as the George Thornton Teaching Award and Connecticut Magazine Top Docs (2015/2016).
Her research spans prosthetic joint infections in elderly patients, xylazine-related wound management, and developing DEI curricula in infectious diseases. She has authored/co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed publications and actively participates in professional organizations like the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
Dr. Golden’s contributions extend to multidisciplinary care models, including teams addressing injection drug use-related endocarditis and telemedicine during the pandemic. She also chairs initiatives promoting diversity and equity in medical education through the ID2EA program at Yale.
