Marjolein D. Bosch

Marjolein D. Bosch is a Palaeolithic zooarchaeologist affiliated with the Austrian Archaeological Institute (OeAI) at the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Vienna. She holds a PhD from Leiden University (2018) and conducts research on organic technology and subsistence behaviors of prehistoric hunter-gatherers. Currently leading the TechnoBeads project under the Prehistoric Identities research group, her work is supported by a Seal of Excellence Fellowship.

Education: PhD in 2018 (Leiden University & Max-Planck-Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology, Leipzig). Post-doc positions at the University of Cambridge (UK) and OeAI. Research focuses on Early Upper Palaeolithic personal ornaments, burned fauna analysis in Late Bronze Age burials, and human adaptations to climatic changes. Methodologies include stable isotope analysis, micro-CT, and Raman spectroscopy.
