Marjan Rahmanian

Dr. Marjan Rahmanian is an Associate Professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, affiliated with the Department of Medicine (Critical Care), The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology, and the Department of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery. She serves as Associate Medical Director of the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit and Medical Director of the Physician Assistant Critical Care Residency program at Montefiore Medical Center.

• Education: Internal Medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center, followed by a Critical Care fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Her research focuses on post-cardiac surgery care, mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, LVAD, Impella), and heart/lung transplantation. She has contributed to studies on ICU procedural training, ECMO complications, and innovative treatments for post-operative complications.

Recent publications highlight her work on hemodynamic stability in critical care, ultrasonographic diagnostics for pneumothorax, and advancements in mechanical support during the pandemic. Her roles bridge clinical practice, education, and research in cardiovascular critical care.
