Dr. Marjan M. Islam is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Critical Care Medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. He specializes in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease, and internal medicine, with a focus on critical care ultrasound, pulmonary embolism management, and post-ICU recovery. Dr. Islam holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and Critical Care Medicine.

- M.D. from Stony Brook University School of Medicine
- Residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel
- Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center (Chief Fellow)
Research Interests: His work emphasizes critical care ultrasound applications, outcomes of critically ill patients with COVID-19, pulmonary embolism complications, and HIV-associated lung disease. He has published extensively in Lung, CHEST, Respirology, and Journal of Intensive Care Medicine.
Clinical Leadership: Director of the Critical and Acute Illness Recovery and Engagement (CAIRE) Clinic, attending physician in Montefiore's Medical/Surgical ICUs, and leader in developing protocols for lung ultrasound in respiratory failure.
