Mariya Gevezova

Mariya Gevezova is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Medical Biology, Medical University of Plovdiv. Her research focuses on mitochondrial function in children with autism spectrum disorder and in vitro testing of therapeutic agents for personalized treatment.

• Education: Bachelor and Master degrees in Biology from University of Plovdiv Paisii Hilendarski, PhD in Molecular Biology (2014).

Research Interests: Mariya investigates mitochondrial dysfunction in autism, aiming to translate findings into personalized therapies. Her work spans molecular biology, regenerative medicine, and translational neuroscience, with applications in innovative diagnostics and pharmaceutical development.
