Mariusz Pałka is a Professor at the Chair of Printmaking, Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland. He graduated in 1976 from the Faculty of Graphic Art at the same institution and has since practiced printmaking, graphic design, and teaching. His career includes 22 solo exhibitions and participation in over 180 exhibitions internationally. He is a recipient of 10 awards and distinctions for his artistic contributions.
Education:
- Master’s in Graphic Art from Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków (Katowice branch), 1976.
Research focuses on printmaking techniques and their educational applications. Projects include collaborations such as the Visual Information System for the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (collaboration with Justyna Kucharczyk and Agnieszka Nawrocka), recognized with a bronze medal at ED-Awards 2014. He also contributed to the Insects Project on Central European typography.
Notable achievements include organizing multimedia events like CallTrane (2016) and developing educational initiatives in ceramic design, such as the 100 Silesian Colours and Patterns project. His work bridges traditional craftsmanship with digital innovation, emphasizing regional cultural heritage preservation.
