Marius Pedersen

Marius Pedersen is a Professor of Colour Imaging at the Department of Computer Science, NTNU, leading the Colourlab research unit and serving as deputy head for Gjøvik campus. He holds a PhD in colour imaging from the University of Oslo (2011) and prior degrees from Gjøvik and Lillehammer University Colleges. His research focuses on colour imaging applications in graphic arts, medical, and security domains.

Research leadership includes roles in FRIPRO, IKTPLUSS, and INTPART projects, with over 75 journal and 140 conference publications. He supervised 9 PhD students (main) and 11 (co), plus 23 master’s and 15 bachelor’s theses.

Teaching includes master/PhD courses in colour imaging, industry training, and coordination of exchange programs. He led the Norwegian-French 3D Multimedia Technology Master’s program (2012-2017) and currently heads the HK-DIR color science partnership project (2023-2026).
