Dr. Marius Meinhof is a Researcher and Project Leader at the Department of Methods of Empirical Social Research, Faculty of Sociology, Bielefeld University. Since 2020, he leads the DFG-funded project "Civilized Families: Discourses of 'Filial Piety' in China in the Age of the 'Chinese Dream'." His work bridges postcolonial theory, material culture studies, and consumerist subjectivation. Key research areas include the historical entanglements of Chinese modernity with colonialism, the role of videography in studying materiality, and global perspectives on consumption practices.
