Ajit Singh

Dr. Ajit Singh is a Lecturer for Special Tasks at the Institute of Communication Studies, Faculty of Humanities, University of Duisburg-Essen. He holds a doctorate in Sociology from the University of Bayreuth and is actively engaged in research and teaching, specializing in qualitative methods, visual sociology, and urban planning. He is currently leading a DFG-funded project on synthetic planning and digital mediatization in collaborative communication work.

Dr. Singh’s research interests include qualitative research methods, video-based interaction research, visual ethnography, urban planning, mediatization, and communicative constructivism. His work explores how visual and embodied knowledge is constructed and communicated in social and institutional contexts, particularly in sports, urban development, and digital planning environments.
