Ishan Pal Singh

Ishan Pal Singh is a Lecturer in Architecture and Director of the Taubman Visualization Lab (TVLab) at Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning, University of Michigan. He is also a design technologist for the Academic Initiatives team and a licensed architect in India, with prior experience founding an architectural practice in New Delhi.

Singh’s research focuses on digital visualization, hybrid spatiality, and the cultural/political implications of media technologies in architectural education and practice. Through the TVLab, he integrates emerging tools like extended reality (XR), AI, and virtual production into curricula, emphasizing critical engagement with technology rather than solutionist approaches.

In awards, he has received the IIDA Best of Asia Pacific Design Award, Alpha Rho Chi Medal for leadership, and co-authored the ARIA Grant for gamifying community engagement. His collaborations include immersive installations, hybrid review formats, and the 2025 Presidential Award for Understanding Democracy.
