Marius Mehrl serves as Lecturer in Quantitative International Relations at the School of Politics and International Studies (POLIS), University of Leeds, Faculty of Social Sciences since October 2022. His research bridges international relations and comparative politics through quantitative methodologies.

Research focuses on domestic armed conflict, civil-military relations, and international conflict/cooperation with specialized attention to external intervention, security institutions, and arms trade dynamics. He maintains strong methodological expertise in network analysis and quantitative approaches.
As editor of Conflict Management and Peace Science (journal of Peace Science Society International), he influences key scholarly discourse. His work appears in top journals including Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Politics, and Journal of Conflict Resolution.
He actively supervises PhD candidates in authoritarian politics, civil-military relations, gender and conflict, and quantitative methodology applications. Teaching responsibilities cover international relations theory, research design, and advanced quantitative methods.
