Marit Sjelmo

Marit Sjelmo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Language and Literature at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Her research focuses on literary history, the geography of literature, postcolonial studies, and Scandinavian literature. She explores topics such as national literary identity, travel literature, and the historical development of prose in Norway.

Teaching: She teaches NORX2111 - Scandinavian Literature before 1900 for exchange students, emphasizing pre-20th-century Nordic literary works and their cultural contexts.

Publications: Her work includes analyses of Norwegian literary nationalism, the role of geography in world literature, and critical studies of Scandinavian authors like Henrik Pontoppidan.
