Marissa Salvo

Marissa Salvo is a Medical Educator in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy, with a practice site at the UConn Health Internal Medicine Clinic. Her teaching expertise includes ambulatory care, primary care focused medication therapy management, patient communications, and self-care treatment.

• Educational Background: Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, Doctor of Pharmacy (University of Rhode Island), PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency (St. Louis College of Pharmacy), and multiple certifications in MTM, immunization, and teaching.

Research Interests focus on practice-based research in primary care and pharmacist professional development. Her work bridges clinical practice with academic innovation, emphasizing patient education and interprofessional collaboration.

Clinical Interests include osteoporosis, diabetes, preventative medicine, hypertension, and dyslipidemia, with a strong commitment to community outreach and patient-centered care.
