Marisha Ewart

Marisha Ewart is a Research Assistant and PhD Candidate at Southern Cross University, affiliated with the Faculty of Business, Law and Arts. Her work bridges public policy, sustainable development, and tourism management, particularly in marine protected areas.

• Educated in Environmental Science, International Hotel Management, and Business (Honors)

Her research examines how commercial tourism operators respond to policy instruments in marine parks, including case studies on the Great Barrier Reef and Cape Byron Marine Park. She also contributes to the Nguthungulli-Julian Rocks Visitor Management Study, assessing SCUBA diving and snorkeling sustainability using a Threat and Risk Assessment Framework.

Marisha’s interests extend to climate change mitigation, circular economy principles, and policy design for environmental conservation. She aims to apply her expertise to broader sustainable development challenges.
