Marise Born is a Full Professor at the Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in Personnel Psychology. She holds additional roles as Endowed Professor of Industrial and Personnel Psychology at VU University Amsterdam and Extraordinary Professor at Optentia, North-West University, South Africa.
Her research focuses on personnel selection, cross-cultural psychology, test development for work-related assessment, and personality and individual differences. She co-founded the Dutch-Flemish Network for Recruitment and Selection Research and contributed to the ISO 10667 standard for workplace psychological assessment. Her recent work explores situational judgment tests, dark/bright personality traits, and refugee psychological evaluation.
Key trends in her publications include organizational behavior, psychometric rigor, and cross-cultural validity. She has advised over 20 PhD candidates and led initiatives like the Dutch Foundation of Psychotechnics (NSvP) until 2020. Currently, she chairs the Board of Foundation NOA, advancing psychotechnical standards.
