Marisanna Centini serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Siena. Her academic role encompasses teaching Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Technology, and Regulatory Affairs within the Pharmacy program (5-year full cycle degree), with courses including Applied Medicinal Chemistry, Cosmetic Products, and Pharmaceutical Technology and Galenicals across academic years 2021/2022 to 2025/2026.
Her research focuses on Cosmetic Science and Pharmaceutical Technology, specifically natural product applications (rice germ oil, cyanobacteria), sun protection innovation (SPF boosters, graphene-enhanced formulations), and regulatory frameworks for health products. This work bridges technological development with socioeconomics and compliance in medicinal and cosmetic product regulation.
