She maintains concurrent faculty positions at Manhattan School of Music (College and Preparatory Divisions since 1974) and CUNY Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music (since 1972), along with appointments at the City University Graduate Center.
Her research interests focus on advanced cello performance techniques, chamber music interpretation, and historical approaches to string pedagogy. Professor Feldman's scholarly work particularly emphasizes the legacy of master cellists through her Cello Legacy Series publications, which explore the technical and interpretive approaches of legendary performers.
Her publications reveal consistent engagement with historical performance practices, technical mastery of string instruments, and the pedagogical transmission of cello traditions across generations. The works demonstrate deep connections between biography, technique, and musical interpretation in classical string performance.
