Marion Dowd is a Lecturer in Archaeology at ATU Sligo and Principal Investigator at the Centre for Environmental Research Innovation and Sustainability (CERIS). Her research specializes in Irish cave archaeology, prehistoric funerary practices, and the ritual use of caves from the Mesolithic through Medieval periods.
She employs interdisciplinary methods including radiocarbon dating, GIS analysis, and ancient DNA studies to examine human occupation patterns. Her work has been published in high-impact journals including Nature and featured in numerous international media outlets.
