Mario Vanhoucke is a Full Professor of Decision Sciences at Vlerick Business School, and concurrently holds positions as Professor at Ghent University (Operations Management and Information Science Centre) and University College London (UCL School of Management). He specializes in data-driven project management, focusing on earned value management, schedule risk analysis, and optimizing resource efficiency.
Education: Doctor in Operations Management from KU Leuven. He is also a Partner at OR-AS, a software development firm, and has authored five books, including The Data-driven Project Manager, which integrates practical case studies with theoretical frameworks.
Research interests include:
- Project scheduling and control mechanisms
- Integration of AI and digital tools in project management
- Risk analysis methodologies for large-scale projects
- Data-driven decision frameworks for organizations
