Mario Vanhoucke is a Lecturer (Education) at the UCL School of Management, University College London. He also holds the position of full professor at Ghent University and Vlerick Business School (Belgium), and is the founder of the 'Operations Research & Scheduling' research group. His primary research interests focus on project scheduling, risk analysis, and optimizing resource efficiency, combining Operations Research methodologies with practical applications in project management.
He has led a multi-million euro research project in collaboration with UK and US universities, emphasizing industry partnerships through PMI (Project Management Institute).
