Mario Braakman

Prof. Mario Braakman is a Full Professor at Tilburg Law School's Department of Criminal Law, specializing in Cultural Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. He holds an endowed chair (PNIL) and chairs the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry. His roles include psychiatrist at Forensisch Psychiatrisch Centrum de Rooyse Wissel, president of the World Association of Cultural Psychiatry, and editor-in-chief of the World Cultural Psychiatry Research Review.

Research focuses on cross-cultural psychiatric practices, refugee mental health, and the Cultural Formulation Interview (CFI).
