Research Interests:
Sabine Bahn's work focuses on the molecular basis of neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia and mood disorders. She develops novel diagnostics and therapeutics, integrating neurotechnology and proteomics for biomarker discovery. Her research has led to the co-founding of two spin-out companies: Psynova Neurotech Ltd. (2005), which launched the first blood test for schizophrenia diagnosis, and PsyOmics Ltd. (2015), combining digital tools and blood-based biomarkers for mental health disorders like bipolar disorder and depression.
Scientific Contributions:
She has published over 180 high-impact articles, emphasizing proteomics and gene expression in psychiatric disorders. Her recent work includes CSF metabolic profiling, label-free LC-MSMS, and peptide correlation methods for biomarker validation.
Professional Affiliations:
She is actively involved in professional bodies such as the Royal College of Psychiatrists, British Neuroscience Association, and the Royal Society of Biology.
