Dr. Marina Wunderlin is a Postdoc researcher at the University Clinics UPD Bern, affiliated with the Department of Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. She holds a PhD (2022), MSc (2017), and BSc (2015) in Psychology from the University of Bern. Her research focuses on sleep physiology, mental health, and aging, particularly exploring sleep’s role in dementia prevention and cognitive function. She investigates non-invasive brain stimulation techniques and their impact on sleep modulation, as well as cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia in psychiatric comorbidities.
Her work integrates neuroscientific and clinical methodologies, emphasizing translational research to improve mental health outcomes in aging populations. Key contributions include systematic reviews on sleep interventions and their effects on memory and amyloid dynamics. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams at UPD and international institutions, advancing understanding of sleep oscillations and their disruption in neurodegenerative disorders.
