Dr. Katharina Klink is a Postdoc researcher at the University Psychiatric Services (UPD) in Bern, Switzerland, affiliated with the Department of Old Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Bern. Her work focuses on cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging, and aging-related memory processes. She holds an MSc in Psychology (Cognition & Brain) from the University of Salzburg and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from UPD Bern. Her research explores brain stimulation techniques (tACS/tDCS), neurofeedback protocols, and compensatory mechanisms in aging and neurodegenerative disorders.
Research Interests: Her studies investigate how transcranial brain stimulation and neuroimaging (fMRI/EEG) can enhance cognitive performance in healthy aging populations and patients with mild cognitive impairment. Key themes include associative memory encoding, hippocampal hyperactivity interventions, and the role of loss incentives in prospective memory tasks.
Publications: Her work spans systematic reviews on frequency-specific transcranial stimulation effects and clinical trial protocols for neurofeedback in Alzheimer's research. Recent studies address compensatory brain activity in subjective cognitive decline and ultra-high field fMRI applications in elderly populations.
Lab/Team: Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams at UPD Bern, focusing on translational neuroscience and clinical trials in geriatric psychiatry.
