Claudia D. Tesche is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of New Mexico and Director of the Transcranial Stimulation Laboratory. Her research utilizes magnetoencephalography (MEG) to characterize brain network dynamics in neurodevelopmental disorders and examines neuromodulation techniques including transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS).
Research focuses on network dynamics in adolescents with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) and enhancing social functioning in autism spectrum disorder (ASD) through targeted stimulation. Additional investigations characterize how tACS influences cortico-cortical and cortico-cerebellar connectivity patterns.
Recent publications examine global network disruptions in FASD, tDCS-mediated improvements in social cognition for ASD, and sex-specific auditory processing differences in neurodevelopmental disorders. This work integrates neuroimaging with neuromodulation to understand and enhance brain function.
Laboratory techniques include advanced MEG imaging protocols and transcranial stimulation methodologies for both basic research and clinical applications.
