Marina Leban

Marina Leban is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marketing at Copenhagen Business School (CBS), where she has been teaching since 2020. Previously, she held lecturer and visiting lecturer roles at ESCP Business School (2017-2020), covering courses in Principles of Marketing, European Business Administration, and Psychology/Sociology. She holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration (specializing in Marketing) from ESCP Business School, an M.Sc. in Organizational and Social Psychology from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Tours.

Her research focuses on modern digital/social media consumption practices, particularly exploring how liquid modernity impacts behaviors like social media lurking, influencer dynamics, and luxury consumption. Key areas include ethical considerations in influencer marketing, AI-driven virtual influencers, and access-based business models at the economic pyramid's base. Marina’s work bridges consumer culture theory with contemporary digital marketing challenges.

Marina’s academic achievements include winning the University of Paris Chancellery “Best Thesis in Management” for her doctoral research. She actively supervises bachelor and master theses at CBS and ESCP, emphasizing qualitative methods such as in-depth interviews, focus groups, and content analysis. Preferred thesis topics align with her research interests, including luxury consumption and digital media practices.

Her publications span prestigious journals like Journal of Business Ethics and Journal of Business Research, alongside conference proceedings and textbook contributions. Marina’s research has been highlighted in media and educational platforms, reflecting its real-world relevance.
