Marina Caron is an Adjunct Instructor at Cooper Union, specializing in contemporary art curation and research-based practices. She currently serves as the 12th SITE Santa Fe International Assistant Curator for the 2025 exhibition Once Within a Time, curated by Cecilia Alemani. Her work focuses on informal collections, New York City art scenes, and interdisciplinary collaborations between art and archives.
Caron holds a BFA from the Cooper Union School of Art and an MA in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College. Her recent projects include Start Making Sense (2024) at the Hessel Museum, which explored social relationships between artworks and archival materials from the 1990s NYC art scene, and Bettina: The Fifth Point of the Compass (2023), a solo exhibition of artist Bettina Grossman at the Hessel Museum. She has also assisted in major exhibitions for artists like Carrie Mae Weems and Yto Barrada.
Her curatorial practice bridges historical research with contemporary art discourse, emphasizing underrepresented narratives and intersections between art, geometry, and urban culture. Caron’s projects often involve collaboration with archives and institutions to contextualize artworks within broader cultural frameworks.
