Elizabeth Chodos is an Associate Professor of Curatorial Practice at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Art, serving as Director of the Miller Institute for Contemporary Art and the Johnson Family Public Art Curator. She previously held roles as Executive and Creative Director at Ox-Bow School of Art and Artists’ Residency. Her curatorial work focuses on contemporary art, public art, and interdisciplinary themes, including exhibitions such as Dara Birnbaum: Journey (2022), Spirits Roaming on the Earth (2021), and Paradox: The Body in the Age of AI (2018).
Her research interests intersect curatorial practice with emerging technologies and social discourse, emphasizing institutional critique and public engagement. Chodos has organized major exhibitions that explore intersections between art, technology, and cultural narratives. She is actively involved in commissioning public artworks and fostering collaborations between artists and academic institutions.
Her curatorial projects have traveled to institutions like Tufts University Art Galleries and the Contemporary Arts Museum St. Louis. She has also contributed to publications and monographs on artists such as Dara Birnbaum and Jacolby Satterwhite.
