Marilyn Stansbury is a Professor and MAcc Program Director at Calvin University. She has been with Calvin since 2009 after a 12-year career in public accounting, including senior roles at Deloitte & Touche and Grant Thornton. She serves on Calvin's MAcc Advisory Board and contributes to CPA examination development through AICPA.
Her educational background includes an MBA in Management Information Systems from Xavier University and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Cincinnati. She holds active professional memberships with AICPA, American Accounting Association, ISACA, and MICPA.
Professor Stansbury's research interests focus on pedagogical innovation in accounting education, particularly through her grant-funded development of accounting ethics workshops. Her teaching spans both graduate and undergraduate levels.
Major honors include:
- Calvin University Innovative Teaching Award (2020)
- Calvin Center for Innovation in Business grant (2013)
As MAcc Program Director, she oversees curriculum development and industry partnerships while mentoring accounting students.
