Marija Novinc is a Research Fellow at the Department of Finance, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb. She has been affiliated with the university since May 2019, initially as a research assistant on the Croatian Science Foundation project 'Sustainability of Public Finances on the Path to Monetary Union' before assuming her current position in October 2023.
She completed her undergraduate and graduate studies at the Faculty of Economics, University of Osijek, and defended her doctoral dissertation titled 'The Impact of Changes in Corporate Tax Burden on the Movement of Foreign Direct Investments in Post-Transition Countries of Central and Eastern Europe' in April 2023.
Her research explores several interconnected domains:
- Public finance systems and fiscal policy design
- Corporate taxation dynamics and investment flows
- Economic transitions in Central/Eastern Europe
- Insurance mechanisms and risk mitigation
At FEB Zagreb, she instructs courses in Public Finance, Fiscal Policy, Insurance and Risks, and Croatia's Tax System. She has contributed to multiple scientific publications and presented at national and international conferences, though specific works aren't detailed here.
