Mariette Matondo

Mariette Matondo serves as Head of the Proteomics Facility within the Mass Spectrometry for Biology Utechs (MSBio) at Institut Pasteur in Paris, France. She leads a team of research engineers and technical staff in providing advanced proteomics services to researchers studying infectious diseases and related biological processes. Her facility is ISO 9001 certified and IBisA labelled, operating as part of the C2RT (Center for Technological Resources and Research).

Her research focuses on developing innovative bottom-up proteomics strategies to address protein function, regulation, and dynamic interactions, particularly in infectious disease contexts. Her expertise spans identification of low-abundance proteins, advanced quantitative proteomic strategies, characterization of post-translational modifications, analysis of protein complexes, top-down proteomics, and specialized techniques like single cell proteomics and immunopeptidomics (in collaboration).

The proteomics facility under her leadership utilizes state-of-the-art instrumentation including multiple Orbitrap mass spectrometers (Eclipse Tribrid, Q-Exactive HF, Fusion Lumos), timsTOF Ultra, and specialized software for comprehensive proteome analysis. Her team has developed expertise in label-free quantification, targeted proteomics using Parallel Reaction Monitoring (PRM), and analysis of protein-protein interactions.

Mariette Matondo serves as Principal Investigator for multiple research projects including 'Post translational modifications (PTM)', 'Interaction Proteomics', 'Quantitative Proteomics', and 'A genetic magnetic-extraction-proteomics (gMEP) workflow to understand the link between Shigella vacuolar rupture and autophagy – PureMagRupture'. Her recent publications demonstrate her contributions to understanding host-pathogen interactions, bacterial evolution, viral replication mechanisms, and advanced proteomics methodologies.
