Prof. Mariet Hagedoorn is a Professor at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Groningen, affiliated with the Health Psychology Research (HPR) department. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals focusing on health and well-being. She leads the ENTWINE iCohort study, a multinational investigation into informal caregiving dynamics. Her research emphasizes caregiver well-being, chronic disease management, and interpersonal health relationships.
Research Contributions: With over 180 publications, her work spans caregiver psychology, breast cancer patient support, and bariatric surgery outcomes. Key areas include longitudinal studies on weight loss psychology and the impact of caregiving on mental health. She pioneered the ENTWINE iCohort initiative, involving collaborators across Europe and North America.
