Marie-Thérèse Lussier is a Full Professor at the Department of Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Montreal. She serves as Director of the Réseau de recherche en soins primaires de l'Université de Montréal (RRSPUM) and Director of the Primary Care Research Team at the CISSS Laval. Her research focuses on patient-doctor communication, chronic disease management in primary care, and healthcare IT solutions. She holds a M.D., B.Sc., M.Sc., and is a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (FCMFC).

Research Interests: She analyzes clinical consultation processes, particularly communication dynamics between family doctors and patients. She co-edited the textbook La communication professionnelle en santé.
Key Projects: Recent initiatives include the COMPAS+ project (chronic disease management evaluation) and Let's Discuss Health (digital patient engagement). She has led over 15 research projects funded by CIHR and FQRSC, addressing topics like interprofessional care and substance misuse interventions.
Awards: Received the 2017 CMFC Award for contributions to family medicine research.
Grants/Advising: Supervised 2 PhD/Master’s students and secured funding from IRSC, FQRSC, and MSSS. Major grants include the Quebec Support Unit for Patient-Centered Research and the Canadian Chronic Disease Awareness Program.
