Marie-Pierre Lanfranchi is a Professor at Aix-Marseille University's Faculty of Law, specializing in International Law and International Law of the Sea. She holds a doctorate in public law (1992) and a research supervision qualification (HDR) from Aix-en-Provence. Her career includes academic roles at the University of Le Havre (2012–2015) and Aix-Marseille University since 2015.
Her research interests focus on sustainable development in international law, maritime resource management, and environmental protection in international waters.
