Dr. Marie Lucie Bougon is a researcher in Comparative Literature at Paris Nanterre University's IUT Ville d'Avray within the Saint-Cloud Book Professions Center. Holding a doctorate in Comparative Literature from University of Artois (2022), her work focuses on genre literature reception and legitimization processes in France.

Research interests span French fantasy evolution, genre legitimacy trajectories, and digital humanities approaches to fan communities. Her work integrates cultural studies, translation theory, and media analysis to examine how speculative literatures are received and transformed across contexts.
Recent publications analyze gender dynamics in fantasy, intersections of childhood studies with genre literature, and the role of interpretive communities in literary legitimization. She has co-edited special volumes on fantasy and feminism, and fantasy for youth audiences.
As a co-organizer of international academic events including the Transatlantic Fantasy & Feminisms colloquium (2021) and interdisciplinary animal representations conference (2019), she actively bridges academic and public discourse about speculative literatures.
