Marie Keenan is a Professor at the School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice, University College Dublin, since 2000. A criminologist, restorative justice practitioner, and forensic psychotherapist, she specializes in child sexual abuse, institutional abuse, and gender-based violence, with particular focus on the Catholic Church and higher education institutions. She chairs UCD's Sexual Exploitation Research Programme until 2024 and serves on multiple international advisory boards including Restorative Justice International and the European Forum for Restorative Justice.
