Marie Gelang

Marie Gelang is a Senior Lecturer and Affiliated Researcher at Örebro University's School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, where she leads projects at the Center for Humanistic Research. Her research specializes in rhetoric, with emphasis on nonverbal communication, political argumentation, and visual rhetoric in consumer culture.

Her interdisciplinary work spans:

• Body language as persuasive communication in debates
• Cultural analysis of mannequins in consumer spaces
• Multimodal methodologies for rhetorical analysis
• Timing (kairos) in rhetorical performance

She co-directs two research groups: Rhetoric and Multimodal Communication, focusing on contemporary applications of rhetorical theory.
