Marie Gaille is a Research Director at the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), affiliated with the Cavaillès team. She holds a doctorate in philosophy (2001) and a Master's in political science (1996), and was agrégée in philosophy (1995). Her research spans philosophy of medicine, health ethics, and political philosophy, conducted primarily within CNRS laboratories CERSES and SPHERE (2013–2025). She has supervised students from master’s to post-doctoral levels and held leadership roles in CNRS Humanities & Social Sciences, serving as deputy scientific director (2014–2021) and scientific director (2021–2025).
Gaille has led and participated in numerous research projects (e.g., ANR, GIS IReSP) and international networks focused on genomic medicine ethics and end-of-life issues. She has conducted research stays at the University of Oxford and University of Cambridge, and actively engages in translation and editorial work, co-directing the journal 'Soin, sens et santé' and the book series 'Les sciences dans la cité' at PUF (Presses Universitaires de France). Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly between philosophy and biomedical sciences.
