Marie-Ann Betschinger is an Associate Professor at the Department of Management, HEC Montréal. She holds a Dr. rer. pol. from the University of Münster and a Dipl. Kauffrau Univ. from the University of Mannheim. Her research focuses on international business strategies, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate governance, and the impact of political and institutional factors on multinational enterprises. Recent work examines FDI dynamics, CEO foreignness effects, and SME challenges in emerging markets. She teaches courses on M&A, strategic execution, and theories of strategy. Supervision activities include guiding 11 Master’s students on topics ranging from organizational learning through venture capital to the impact of disability on organizational performance. Her peer-reviewed case studies address pandemic adaptations and corporate takeover bids.
