- Education: PhD in Sociology, Örebro University (2007); Docent in Sport Science (2012)
Her research examines how societal fears of abuse have led to restrictive teaching practices, such as avoiding gymnastics and dance. Key projects include a Swedish Research Council-funded study on international PE teaching practices and a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) engaging 5,000 teachers globally. She emphasizes ethical considerations in touch, questioning how touch taboos shape educational outcomes and children’s rights.
Current work includes an international comparative study on PE teachers’ handling of physical contact and mentoring a doctoral student exploring students’ perspectives. Her grants include support from the Swedish Research Council for Sport Science and the Swedish Research Council.
