Marianne van Hage

Marianne van Hage is a Professor of Clinical Immunology at Karolinska Institutet since 1999 and a Senior Consultant Clinical Immunologist at Karolinska University Hospital. She leads the Clinical Immunology and Allergy Unit within the Department of Medicine Solna. Her academic roles include Deputy Chairman of the Department of Medicine Solna (2008-2019) and Chair of the Expert Committee for Consultant Physician Appointments. She holds dual Swedish and international leadership roles in allergy research organizations.

Education: MD (1982), Specialist in Clinical Immunology (1988), PhD in Medical Sciences (Karolinska Institutet, 1988).

Research focuses on molecular allergology, severe respiratory/food allergies, allergy diagnostics, and novel therapies. Key areas include allergen component resolution, predictive biomarkers for allergy development, and translational immunotherapy approaches.

Publications: Over 350 peer-reviewed articles (H-index 76), with recent work emphasizing molecular diagnostic advancements and allergy prediction models. Active in clinical trials for immunotherapy delivery methods.
