Marianne Verhaar

Marianne Verhaar is a Full Professor at Utrecht University Medical Center (UMC Utrecht), leading the Department of Nephrology and Hypertension since 2014. A medical doctor and internist-nephrologist, she integrates clinical practice with regenerative nephrology and vascular biology research, holding a Cum Laude PhD in the latter field.

Dr. Verhaar’s research focuses on circulatory health, regenerative medicine, and vascular biology, particularly kidney-cardiovascular interactions. Her recent publications highlight trends in cardiorenal research, proteomics in heart failure, and challenges in clinical trials for kidney and cardiovascular diseases.
