Marianne Ryghaug is a full Professor of Science and Technology Studies at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of Culture. She leads research on energy transitions, sustainability, and innovation policy, focusing on smart grids, electric vehicles, and sustainable mobility. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration with industry and public authorities.
She holds a PhD in Political Science and has led major research centers like the Center for Energy, Climate and Environment (until 2023) and the Centre for Studies of Sustainable Energy (CenSES, 2009–2019). Current projects include CAPTAIN (Norwegian Research Council, 2023–2027) and ACES (2021–2025), focusing on port sustainability and energy transitions.
