Marian Berryhill

Marian Berryhill is a Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), within the College of Science. She leads the Memory and Brain Lab (MBLab), focusing on cognitive neuroscience, attention, working memory, and episodic memory. Her work integrates clinical and subclinical populations, including concussion survivors and stroke patients, to explore brain-behavior relationships.

Dr. Berryhill holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from Dartmouth College and a B.A. in Psychobiology & French from Hamilton College. She completed postdoctoral training at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University under Ingrid Olson, investigating parietal lobe contributions to memory and perception.

Her research employs advanced methodologies: behavioral testing, eye-tracking, neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG), neurostimulation (tDCS, TMS), and fNIRS. Key themes include improving cognitive function through neurostimulation, understanding working memory limitations, and analyzing perceptual-mnemonic interactions in clinical contexts.

Berryhill teaches courses like Cognitive Psychology (Psy 416), Human Memory (Psy 432), and Memory Seminar (Psy 729). Her lab emphasizes translational research, applying findings to rehabilitation and everyday cognitive challenges, particularly in aging populations.
